The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)
is an autonomous organization under the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India that assesses and accredits Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. NAAC was established in 1994 to assess and accredit institutions of higher learning with all objective of helping them to work continuously to improve the quality of education. 

Education plays a vital role in the development of any nation. Therefore, there is a premium on both quantity (increased access) and quality (relevance and excellence of academic programs offered) of higher education. NAAC grading indicates institutional quality and performance. 

NAAC A, A+, A++ Grade denotes an institution holds superior credentials and delivers high on academics as well as preparing students for the future.

NAAC B, B+, B++ Grade denotes an institution holds good status but yet to develop academic credentials, student-teacher ratio, the infrastructure, the basic amenities for students and other important parameters for preparing students for the future.

NAAC C Grade denotes satisfactory status of an institution. The institution will have to develop all the parameters to reach the goal.

NAAC D Grade denotes unsatisfactory level of Institutions.

Eligibility Criteria for NAAC Assessment
Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), with a record of at least two batches of students graduated, or been in existence for six years, whichever is earlier, are eligible to apply for the process of Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) of NAAC, and fulfill the other conditions or are covered by the other provisions, may apply for NAAC Assessment.
